Phlebotomy Program Curriculum
“Phlebotomy Theory and Practice”
The Course meets for 15 weeks twice a week and twice a year at the Educational & Resource Center (ERC) building, 560 Hudson Street, Hartford, CT.

The lecture component can be completed as an independent study at home course (inquire for details). However, the practical portion must be completed at the hospital.

Prerequisites courses/experience:
  • An official High School transcript or equivalent (mandatory)
  • Anatomy and Physiology, High School level (optional, but recommended)
  • Medical Terminology (optional, but recommended)
  • Computer Experience (optional, but recommended)
  • Mathematics (optional, but recommended)
  • EMT or CNA certification is a plus

Any exceptions to the above prerequisites must be approved by the admissions committee. Life experiences and/or field related work experience would also considered in selecting the phlebotomy class.
