Students must have the following...
High school diploma or equivalent
Must have taken the following as pre requisite courses at a college with a grade of “C” or better.
Must successfully complete a placement exam.
Successfully complete an interview with the admissions committee including observation in clinical setting.
Must pass pre-enrollment screening including substance abuse screening.
A signed assessment for entry-level criteria form must be received attesting that the applicant believes that they meet the physical requirements. (Assessment Requirements)
In addition to the above mentioned requirements, the following one of two routes of entry must be fulfilled to be considered as an applicant to the Hartford Hospital Radiation Therapy Program:
Students must be enrolled in a college/university that will accept the two-year accredited radiation therapy program for credit towards a bachelor's or an associate's degree. Student must earn a minimum of an associates by the end of their professional curriculum when they earn a certificate from the hospital. This will allow students to be registry eligible.
As of January 1, 2015, all applicants for professional registration in Radiation Therapy with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) will be required to possess an academic degree (minimum of associate’s degree).
