Q:  HOW LONG IS THE PROGRAM?
A:  Two years, including summers.
Q:  WHAT ARE THE HOURS?
A:  Monday – Friday, eight hours / day, 7:30 A.M. – 4:30 PM (varies slightly throughout the year).  
Q:  WHAT IS THE COST OF TUITION?

Q:  IS FINANCIAL AID FOR TUITION AVAILABLE?
A:  No federal funding is available; however, students may apply for scholarships from various sources and student loans through institutions such as the Hartford Healthcare Credit Union, SLM Financial Corporation or TERI.  (more info)
Q:  IS HOUSING OR PARKING AVAILABLE?
A:  Dormitory rooms are available in the Education & Resource Center for approximately $350/month. Parking is available at local garages/lots for approximately $60-$70 / month.

Q:  WHAT ARE THE PREREQUISITES NEEDED TO ENTER THE PROGRAM?
A:  A high school diploma or equivalent.  Have taken a minimum of 15 credit hours of college-level course work to include the following with a grade of ‘C’ or higher (C- and below is not accepted):
• Human Anatomy and Physiology I
• Human Anatomy and Physiology II
• Intermediate Algebra
• English Composition
• Communication/Public Speaking
Q:  WHAT IS YOUR CERTIFICATION EXAMINATION PASS RATE?
A:  100% 
Q:  ARE DRUG SCREENING AND A PHYSICAL EXAM REQUIRED?
A:  Yes.

Q:  DOES THE HOSPITAL GUARANTEE YOU JOB PLACEMENT?
A:  No. We assist students in securing employment upon graduation and provide opportunity for site visits at other facilities. 
Q:  WHAT IS THE SALARY LIKE FOR THIS PROFESSION?
A:  Approximately $45,000; salaries vary based on geographical area. For more info, see visit the ASRT web site at www.asrt.org
Q:  WHAT IS THE JOB MARKET FOR RADIOGRAPHERS?
A:  There is currently a shortage in radiography. Recent national statistics predict that this will continue until 2010. 
Q:  CAN I TRANSFER CREDITS FROM OTHER SCHOOLS?
A:  A student may apply previous didactic education to the program with program official approval. Tuition remains the same.
Q:  ARE EVENING CLASSES AVAILABLE? CAN YOU START IN A JANUARY SEMESTER?
A:  No, classes are only held Monday – Friday, and we begin in September only. 
Q:  HOW MANY STUDENTS ARE ACCEPTED PER YEAR?
A:  We are accredited to accept 14 students per year. 
Q:  WILL I HAVE TO ATTEND CLINICAL TRAINING AT OTHER FACILITIES?
A:  Yes, students perform clinical rotations at facilities other than Hartford Hospital and are responsible for their own transportation to/from those locations. 
Q:  WHAT DOES YOUR TRAINING PREPARE ME FOR?
A:  The graduate of this program is provided with educational information and experiences to develop the skills necessary for entry-level radiography practice and become eligible to apply for certification to the ARRT in radiography. 
Q:  WHAT WOULD A CAREER LADDER LOOK LIKE FOR ME ONCE I BECAME A RADIOGRAPHER?
A:  Once certified, your choices range from staff radiographer to opportunities in management, education, equipment sales, quality management, and specialization in advanced imaging modalities such as CT, MRI, Mammography and Interventional Radiology. (more info
