(HealthDay News) -- Smoke detectors aren't the only devices that
should be kept throughout the home in the event of a fire.
Fire extinguishers are equally important. The National Safety
Council offers these suggestions for where to keep them:
- Keep an extinguisher that can handle both grease and electrical
fires in your kitchen.
- Place another extinguisher next to your furnace, and one in
your garage.
- Keep additional extinguishers at other places where a fire
could start.
- Make sure everyone in the home who is physically able knows how
to work an extinguisher.
