(HealthDay News) -- Body piercings are increasingly popular, but
they also come with potential health risks.
The
Journal of the American Medical Association says possible
risks from body piercing include:
- The wound may not heal properly.
- You may have pain.
- Nearby tissue may swell.
- You may have an allergic reaction to the metal.
- A scar may develop.
- Piercings in and around the mouth may damage the teeth.
