(HealthDay News) -- Your parents may have appreciated when you
took a lot of food and left a clean plate, but experts say that's
no way to maintain a healthy weight.
The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics offers these suggestions
to help prevent overeating:
- Use small plates and glasses.
- Take small bites and chew your food slowly, taking time to
savor it.
- Don't indulge in more than one helping.
- Before you dig into your main course, fill yourself up with a
green, leafy salad or some vegetable soup.
