(HealthDay News) -- You shouldn't think of your doctor only when
you're not feeling well. He or she also can provide preventive
services to help you
stayhealthy.
The American Academy of Family Physicians suggests you discuss
these preventive services with your doctor:
- General screenings or tests, which could indicate problems
before they become serious.
- Regular monitoring of your weight and blood pressure.
- Advice about topics such as preventing accidents, managing
stress, maintaining a healthy weight, following a healthy diet,
exercising and avoiding smoking.
- Vaccinations to help prevent various diseases.
