Health Tip: Where to Clean Your Newborn

Last Updated: 2010-Aug-04  ::  (HealthDay)

(HealthDay News) -- Newborns don't need a full bath every day, the American Academy of Pediatrics says. But there are certain body areas that are prone to needing frequent cleaning.

The academy recommends a frequent spot-check of:

  • The diaper area.
  • Skin that's been dirtied by a diaper "blowout."
  • Around baby's mouth.
  • Baby's skin folds, including near the chin and thighs.
  • The armpits and groin area.
