(HealthDay News) -- Doughnuts and pastries may be delicious
breakfast treats, but they're probably loaded with fat and
sugar.
The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics offers these healthier
breakfast choices:
- Eliminate doughnuts in favor of whole-grain waffles and
reduced-sugar syrup.
- Instead of regular bacon, opt for turkey bacon or Canadian
bacon.
- Cut white toast in favor of whole-wheat or whole grain toast,
and top with reduced-fat peanut butter.
- Skip sugary cereals in favor of whole-grain, low sugar cereals
topped with berries.
