(HealthDay News) -- The most common type of heart disease occurs
when fatty plaque deposits build up on the walls of vessels that
carry oxygenated blood to the heart.
The womenshealth.gov website offers these suggestions to help
lower your risk:
- Keep cholesterol, triglycerides and blood pressure under
control.
- Don't smoke.
- Maintain a healthy body weight.
- Get plenty of regular exercise.
- Limit alcohol consumption.
