What is ADHD?

Adults with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder may find that they are easily distracted and have a difficult time focusing on a given task.

ADHD is a persistent condition that is often first diagnosed in childhood. As children, people with ADHD may have experienced difficulties, such as:
  • Difficulty sitting still or waiting their turn
  • Difficulty completing homework assignments and chores
  • Having a short temper
  • Misplacing things
  • Difficulty listening to others
Common symptoms of adult ADHD include:
  • Difficulty with planning and organization at home and at work.
  • Starting tasks, but having difficulty completing them
  • Making decisions impulsively, leading to problems with friends or finances
  • Becoming easily irritated or angry.
