The Psychology Department

 

In support of this mission, the purpose of the Psychology Department is to provide high quality treatment and assessment services to all patients and to provide training in clinical psychology and neuropsychology.  This includes predoctoral internships in child and adolescent psychology and adult psychology, and postdoctoral training in neuropsychology, anxiety disorders, child and adolescent clinical psychology, general adult inpatient treatment, and cognitive rehabilitation of schizophrenia.  These programs are part of the hospital's long-standing training mission which is administered under the auspices of the Department of Education.

 

The administrative organization of the psychology staff assures that interns have access to senior psychologists and other professional staff who have a thorough knowledge of their patients. The Institute places great importance on the responsibility of each intern for his/her patients and deems equally important that the intern have experienced professionals to call upon for guidance.
