The Hartford Hospital Family Wellness Center at Avon is different than those in
our other locations in that it contains a full-fledged fitness center.
In partnership with the Healthtrax™ company, we designed the wellness
center to be both a fitness and a healthcare facility.
The first floor is largely occupied by
Healthtrax. It contains a swimming pool, exercise pool, weight room,
three exercise rooms and a full-sized court for basketball and
volleyball. The area is a dazzling display of state-of-the-art exercise
equipment.
But the Healthtrax area is more than just fun.
The Hartford Hospital Rehabilitation Network and Hartford Hospital's Departments
of Cardiology and Preventive Cardiology use Healthtrax facilities and
equipment for patients needing physical therapy and cardiac
rehabilitation.
The wellness center also contains a cardiology
center that includes a nuclear CT scanner and other high-tech equipment,
urgent care services, primary care services, radiology, diagnostic
testing and a variety of specialties. There's also an elaborate
Education Center where community education classes are held with a Computer Room and a library, and nearby is a
children's activity room, which provides childcare service for the
medical practices in the building.

| Cardiac Surgery Education Class

| | This complimentary class will give you a better understanding of what to expect before, during and after surgery. We recommend you bring along a friend or family member who will be helping you after surgery.

| Joint Replacement Pre-Operative Patient Education

| | This class is for patients who will undergo hip or knee replacement surgery, providing education on how to prepare for the surgery and recovery. This class is NOT for patients undergoing a shoulder replacement surgery.

| Use Hypnosis to Slay the Anxious Dragon
|
| | Use Hypnosis to begin to release the fears that are holding you back, even if you are not sure what you are afraid of. So come learn where fears come from as well as some powerful hypnotic techniques to conquer them.
