Dr. Orlando becomes the first Chief Medical Officer for Hartford Healthcare. In this role, he will provide leadership to the clinical staff of three acute care hospitals and several specialty health care providers. He will work to help and inspire Hartford Healthcare clinical staffs to reach national preeminence in patient quality and safety and to create seamless care coordination across the entire network.

expansion of its clinical education and training center. The major gifts include a $1 million donation from an anonymous individual, $150,000 from The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc., and $440,000 which was raised at the hospital’s 2008 Black & Red Gala. It will be called the “Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation” (CESI).
