About Hartford Hospital

The geographic focus of this program is an 850-bed tertiary care facility, which covers all aspects of medical care and is the major referral center for all of northern and central Connecticut.

It is well suited to the management of the vascular patient as it sustains more the 40 surgically dedicated critical care beds and supports major programs in transplant, cardiac and trauma medicine.

With more than forty operating rooms, the hospital is a strong financial entity in the community and provides over one million dollars in funding to its own faculty for on- site research.

The hospital has facilities for bench research if the applicant is interested in pursuing such an effort.
