We have developed a comprehensive program in Medical Toxicology.
The expertise of many individuals and unique
programs within the state are combined to provide broad-based,
in-depth instruction in toxicology. A mature certified regional
poison control center (PCC), expertise in toxicology from the
clinical laboratory, the cooperation of academic faculty and the
integrated residency in emergency medicine, and a growing need
for expertise in environmental and occupational health and
toxicology provide an exciting setting for this program. The
presence and activity of toxicology fellows serves as a nidus
for the coordination of many efforts relating to medical
toxicology.
The program is a two-year toxicology fellowship at
the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and Hartford
Hospital, which was accredited by the ACGME (Accreditation
Council for Graduate Medical Education) in 2000.
