The Avon facility is different than those in our other locations in that it contains a full-fledged fitness center. In partnership with the Healthtrax™ company, we designed the wellness center to be both a fitness and a healthcare facility.

The first floor is largely occupied by Healthtrax. It contains a swimming pool, exercise pool, weight room, three exercise rooms and a full-sized court for basketball and volleyball. The area is a dazzling display of state-of-the-art exercise equipment.

But the Healthtrax area is more than just fun. The Eastern Rehabilitation Network and Hartford Hospital's Departments of Cardiology and Preventive Cardiology use Healthtrax facilities and equipment for patients needing physical therapy and cardiac rehabilitation.

The wellness center also contains a cardiology center that includes a nuclear CT scanner and other high-tech equipment, urgent care services, primary care services, radiology, diagnostic testing and a variety of specialties. There's also an elaborate Education Center with a Computer Room and a library, and nearby is a children's activity room, which provides childcare service for the medical practices in the building.

REGARDING SERVICES AT THE AVON WELLNESS CENTER:

Although these services are provided by physician practices affiliated with Hartford Hospital, they are independently operated. Specific questions regarding these services need to be addressed to the specific practice.

In most cases these practices are not walk-in clinics ... We highly recommend you first call for an appointment.
