| Description: | |
Epilepsy is the fourth leading neurological disorder in the US, after migraine, stroke and Alzheimer's disease. There are more than 60,000 people in Connecticut diagnosed with epilepsy - and thousands more who remain undiagnosed or not effectively treated. Seizures can lead to accidental injury, decreased quality of life and can even be life threatening. Having unpredictable seizures can make it impossible to drive, to work or to participate fully in everyday activities.
Making a correct diagnosis and stopping seizures will improve quality of life and may make it possible to participate fully again. We understand how having epilepsy affects patients and their families. It is the Comprehensive Epilepsy Center's priority to treat the whole patient and restore their quality of life.
In this seminar, you will learn:
- What is Epilepsy?
- Why is treating Epilepsy so critical?
- What can you expect from the Comprehensive Epilepsy Center at Hartford Hospital?
