Dr. Fischer completed a rotating internship at Sherbrooke Hospital in Canada. He also had general surgery training at Mount Sinai Medical Center, Milwaukee, Wisconsin and ENT/plastic surgery training at the University of Connecticut. He completed his obstetrics and gynecology residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut. Dr. Fischer serves as an assistant clinical professor in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Connecticut. He is also a fellow of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the American Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology and the Gynecological Laser Society. Dr. Fischer developed and patented the Fischer Cone Biopsy Excisor. He has been in practice since 1976 and joined the Hartford Hospital Medical Staff in 1988. He is bilingual Spanish/English.
