The Archives are comprised of The T. Stewart Hamilton, M.D., Archives at Hartford Hospital and The Institute of Living Archives.
The Archives houses historical materials, as well as materials relating to the ongoing life at Hartford Hospital and the Institute of Living.
The Archives are not open to the public.
About the T. Stewart Hamilton, MD Archives
The T. Stewart Hamilton, MD Archives, established in Hartford Hospital's 125th year (1979) through a grant from the Hartford Hospital Auxiliary, was dedicated in 1982 in honor of Dr. T. Stewart Hamilton (1911-2002), Chief Administrative Officer of Hartford Hospital from 1954 to 1976. The Hamilton Archives houses historical materials, as well as materials relating to the ongoing life at Hartford Hospital.

Collection
The Archives are the official corporate memory of Hartford Hospital and The Institute of Living, the official repository for its non-current, permanent records, and thereby a central source of historical information about these institutions.
The collections include annual reports, minutes, correspondence, wills, deeds, contracts, leases, bylaws, manuals, ledgers, publications, blueprints, photographs, audiovisuals, student transcripts, old patient records, and a limited number of artifacts. Some of the material dates back to the beginning of each institution.
