 The Tremaine Resource Center at MidState Medical Center provides resources to hospital staff, physicians, nursing and allied health students, and patients/consumers.
About the Tremaine Resource Center
The Tremaine Resource Center offers access to two distinct library collections in a community hospital environment.
The center is housed within this 128 bed community hospital. It provides current medical and wellness information for hospital staff and its patients/consumers. The center provides current information in both its hospital staff library and its patient/consumer library. The Center maintains affiliate relations with the Hartford Hospital Health Science Libraries. This affiliation provides extended collection access through borrowing reciprocity and resource sharing.

The Tremaine Resource Center is located within MidState Medical Center in the main Gallaria next to Dunkin' Donuts. ( map)

Directions:

From the north take I-91 south to the I-691 intersection. At the I-691 intersection go west. Take exit 6, Lewis Avenue. Turn left onto Lewis Avenue the entrance to the Medical Center is on the right.

From Southington take I-691 east to exit 5, Chamberlain Highway. Turn left off the exit ramp and turn right at the second traffic light. At the first traffic light, turn right onto Lewis Avenue. The entrance to the new Medical Center is on the left.

The Patient/Consumer Collection has the following resources available:

- Health magazines for the general public
- Access to four shared-access workstations
The Staff Collection offers the following resources:
- Medical textbooks
- Print medical, nursing, and allied health journals
- Access to four shared-access workstations. These computers provide access to:
- Clinical databases
- Online full-text journals
- Online full-text books
- ACS Surgery and UnBound Surgery online
- The Medical Letter online
- Internet access
The general public may take out books and videos from the patient/consumer library. These materials may be checked out for two weeks. |
