Schizophrenia Treatment Services

The Schizophrenia Treatment Center at The Institute of Living provides care for people dealing with schizophrenia and related disorders.
 
Schizophrenia Treatment Services at The Institute of Living (IOL) are expanding and uniting into a national center of excellence to provide specialized, innovative care for patients diagnosed with schizophrenia and related disorders. 
 
The programs serve patients (children, adolescents, adults, and older adults) and their families by providing specialized treatment throughout our continuum of care.  Treatment for each patient involves both innovative and well-established treatment methods designed to promote optimal functioning.
 
Programs & Services Include:
In addition to these specialty services, the IOL offers a complete range of assessment, inpatient, partial hospitalization, and outpatient services for children, adults and the elderly covering the complete range of psychiatric and dual diagnosis issues.
The Institute of Living/Hartford Hospital offers a one-year, full-time, postdoctoral residency training position in the inpatient treatment of acute psychotic illness and in the Schizophrenia Rehabilitation Program (SRP). Our program utilizes specialized treatment and rehabilitation services, with an emphasis on neurocognitive rehabilitation. This position is part of the Psychology Department Postdoctoral Residency Program and begins September 1st.
