Patient safety remains paramount at Hartford Hospital. Hartford Hospital
and its captive insurance company CHS Insurance Ltd. have recently
partnered with Medical Risk Management, LLC to offer a comprehensive
Risk Management Educational Program which is intended to increase
patient safety and reduce malpractice exposures. This CME approved
multi-modality program is specialty specific and will incorporate live
as well as web-based and e-learning activities. The employed clinicians
at Hartford Hospital, MidState Medical Center, and Windham Hospital are
already enrolled in this program, and the feedback from participants has
been overwhelmingly positive. Active medical staff members of Hartford
Hospital that are insured by the captive are eligible for a 6% premium
credit each year that they successfully complete the program.
