About the Department

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is one of six clinical areas of excellence at Hartford Hospital. It is comprised of five points of service:

  • Obstetrical Units
  • Inpatient Women's Health Unit
  • Women's Ambulatory Services
    • Women's Ambulatory Health Services
    • Urogynecology
    • Gyn Oncology
  • Prenatal Testing Center
  • Private Practices
 

Services span the spectrum from normal obstetrical care through complicated cancer care. There is a strong commitment to community outreach and outcomes research. Patient satisfaction is a key focus, as is continuous improvement.

The department's vision is to create an innovative, patient-centered women's health system that continuously improves quality and utilizes resources cost effectively.

The department’s mission is to provide high quality health care that promotes the physical and emotional well-being of women and their families throughout their life span.
