About the Department

Acute Orthopaedic Traumatology Arthritis and Total Joint Surgery Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine General Orthopaedics Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery Musculoskeletal Oncology Post traumatic Reconstruction Spine Surgery Foot & Ankle Surgery

The department’s mission is to provide outstanding diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation for patients with musculoskeletal problems. Highly effective collaboration with our excellent nursing staff, physical therapists and other health care providers has won our service recognition as a leader in the patient-centered redesign movement.

 

A multi-disciplinary preoperative education for all patients undergoing total joint replacement has achieved national and international attention. The department serves as an important site for graduate medical education for the University of Connecticut Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program. Focus on optimal patient care, collaborative pursuit of excellence, and a maintenance of scholarly discipline are the core values of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.
