ASSMHartford Hospital’s Sleep Disorders Center is accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

The sleep lab, which treats more than 200 patients a month for a variety of sleep disorders, is under the direction of Natalya Thorevska, MD.  The center is open seven nights a week, including Saturday.  The state-of-the-art sleep lab in Hartford accommodates up to six patients at a time in comfortable surroundings with such amenities as flat-screen TVs. The Bloomfield location can handle up to four patients a night.

Typical sleep disorders include sleep apnea, a breathing disorder that typically produces a feeling during the daytime of sleeplessness, insomnia, snoring and sleepwalking.
 
In its letter awarding accreditation, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine said:  “Your efforts to achieve accreditation have been significant and reflect commitment to the growth of the field of sleep disorders medicine.  Congratulations on what you and your colleagues have accomplished.”
