Updates In Urology for the PRIMARY CARE PROVIDER

Hartford Hospital’s Tallwood Urology & Kidney Cancer Institute will be providing a series of three educational seminars for the Primary Care Provider.  Each session is independent and will provide 2 CMEs and dinner.

Session: May 13, 2014 - Kidney Stone Disease:

The session will focus on the identification and management of stone disease as well as the role of the PCP, Urologist and Nephrologist in caring for patients with kidney stones.

Presenters: Jeffrey Morgenstern, MD & Jarrod Post, MD

Understand recent updates in the detection and management of:

  • Identify factors impacting the increased incidence of Stone Disease
  • Describe the diagnostic work up for Kidney Stones
  • Describe intervention strategies for treatment of Kidney Stones
  • Identify the strategy for metabolic management of recurrent stones


Session: June 4, 2014 - Pelvic Health:

This session will focus on the role of the Primary Care Provider in identifying and managing Overactive Bladder, Urinary Tract Infections and Hematuria. A physical therapist will also provide an overview of the role of physical therapy in patients with pelvic health dysfunction.

Registration open to Primary Care Physicians, Physician Assistants and APRNs only. Other requests considered based on availibility.

Each session has been approved for 2 CME credits per attendance.
