Origami for Beginners
    Join us in this ancient Japanese creative process known as Origam.. We will learn to make folded paper figurines used for many forms of decoration or gift giving. This process is both entertaining and therapeutic. You may bring your own left over wrapping paper or patterned pages, but additional origami papers and other supplies will be provided.     This workshop will focus on writing down things about ourselves that not everyone may know. We’ll use writing prompts to get the creative juices flowing such as ‘The one place I have always wanted to go because….” This will give way to writing about things we think about and dream about but may not put down on paper or even voice to anyone. Today we will write it down. A guided meditation will assist in the writing process, providing us with images that tap into the words we wish to pen. No experience required. Supplies provided.

Yoga Nidra for Patients with Cancer
    Yoga Nidra is a systematic method of inducing complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation. The term yoga nidra is derived from two Sanskrit words, yoga meaning union or one-pointed awareness, and nidra, translating to sleep (not sleep as we think of it, but rather a conscious sleep). The benefits of yoga nidra to general health and well-being, and its deeper spiritual effects, are known to everyone who practices it, and are doubly applicable to anyone confronting and living with a life-changing illness. Class will consist of a gentle yoga practice followed by a guided yoga nidra meditation. This practice can greatly benefit patient and caregivers. Please bring yoga mat, blanket, and any nexk supports, blocks, etc. you might need.
